Kicking Horse adds Groomed Access to Fuez Bowl

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort announced this week that they have added a groomed traverse from the Top of the Stairway to Heaven Chair along Redemption Ridge for easier access to Fuez Bowl. For those of you familiar with the old access this is mostly a great thing. The old traverse had the advantage of keeping the snow just a little fresher by deterring those who have an affinity to their knees, and during periods of less snow, those who have an affinity to their smooth bases. It was usually worth it though - the snow and terrain found in Fuez bowl is classic Kicking Horse, and some of the best champagne powder to be found!
The traverse had a tendancy to become extremely bumpy with the odd rock scattered along the way where riders tried to dump speed too frequently. The new groomed access should be a great addition to Kicking Horse allowing much easier access to this terrain, making the overall experience that much more enjoyable!
Kicking Horse is scheduled to open Friday December 9th for the 2011/12 winter season!
